Kim MacQuarrie
Kim MacQuarrie joins our team of specialists as a keen explorer and long-time adventurer in Peru. He is also well known for his writing and filmography, which includes 4 Emmy-winning documentaries and 5 books on the Andes and Amazon of Peru.
Kim’s newest book, Life and Death in the Andes, presents the stories of fascinating characters who’s lives have unfolded along the 4,500-mile spine of South America’s Andes Mountains.
Alonso Cueto
Alonso Cueto’s unique artistic sensibility and ability to connect imaginary with imagination makes his an essential creative addition to our team of Peru specialists.
Alonso is a journalist, university professor, and fiction writer best known for his novels, stories and essays about the everyday lives and problems of ordinary middle class people in Lima. His work has been translated into 15 languages.

Gonzalo Salinas
Gonzalo Salinas is a trained economist who combines deep business research with an understanding of what travelers seek in South America.
Gonzalo completed a Ph.D in Economics at Oxford University and a Masters in Development Economics at Harvard University. He is currently as economist at the World Bank and was previously a consultant for the International Monetary Fund.

Javier Puente
Javier Puente is our resident expert in Peruvian history and culture. He earned a Ph.D. in Latin American history from Georgetown University and is currently Professor of History at Pontifical Catholic University of Chile.
Formerly a full-time travel guide at Peru for Less between 2006-2008, Javier combines his extensive knowledge of the Andean region with practical guiding know-how to craft exceptional tour experiences.
